Tom Prather---Toth Very sorry for your loss December 21, 2007

Since I heard the news, I've been consumed with sadness. I didn't know Marissa but I've known her dad Mike for many years. Mike and I share the same profession.

Our families are very similar. I have two teenagers, a boy and girl. Mike, stay strong in your faith and know that God is good! I'll be praying for you and your family as well as the other families.

God Bless

My thoughts and prayers go out to Marissa, Mike and the rest of the family...I cant say i was Marissa's best friend, but i will always be able to say i was close to her and her brother. Having home ec and track with Mike my senior year made us friends, and with Jason around i was hanging out with Mike and the family more than I had ever in high school. From having bonfires in my backyard over breaks, and seeing him down at school, it was always a lively experience. Just about every day during the summer i would see Marissa at the gym...the smile never left her face. No matter where or when i would see her, she was always smiling, cheerful, and in good humor. Thats what i loved about her - there was never a dull moment, always a bright cheerful attitude. She always had good things to say, and even if i was in a bad mood, once i would see her, my day would brighten up - she had that effect on everyone. Its such a tragic loss, but she is in a better place now. And to some, its almost as if she never left us. We love and miss you Marissa, you will be in our hearts forever!

Jessica Marissa December 19, 2007

my name is jessica and i want her family to know what a shock this was to me when i found out about the loss of such a lovely person. i didn't know her that well but i can remember meeting her my sphomore year at poland in gym. i was so nervous about meeting all the upperclass girls because we have a tendency to be mean to the underclass students. that day i walked into gym with my knees shaking, the teacher directed us to get teams together and play "mat ball" or dodge ball. thats what they had to call it. marissa was the only one that befriended me and some other girls and got a team together with us. everytime i would see a ball flying at my face i saw her throw the ball back and get someone out for our team. i dont know if she was just being nice to us or out of the kindness of her heart to protect us from angry juniors hitting us with balls. as i realized throughout the years of school with her she was the kindest person you could ever meet. she meant no harm to others. she always made me laugh in gym. i will never forget that day i met her and the way she openly became friends with us. we will miss you marissa and you will always be in our thoughts and prayers.

god bless the Plakosh family and im very sorry for such a tragic loss among you all. once again i am very sorry for everything that has happened to your family.

I met Marissa in my freshman year of high school.  I go to Canfield and we were playing a golf match agianst Poland. I was nervous before we teed off and Marissa made me feel more comfortable, and said "Don't worry about it, it is just a game have fun." From that day I always looked forward to playing with her. I will never forget the laughs that we had and how she always made everyone smile. I am glad to say that I knew Marissa, she was an amazing person. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless.
Tristan Ula thoughts and prayers December 19, 2007
My thoughts and prayers for the Plakosh family. You all have been such wonderful next door neighbors and it is so hard to think that Marissa is no longer with us but I take comfort knowing that she is watching over us in Heaven. We were all so blessed to have her in our lives.
Bob and Patty Simerlink Marissa-Never forgotten December 19, 2007
Our heart felt prayers go out to all the Plakosh family & friends. Our son Steffen, grew up with Michael & Marissa. Steffen's Grandparents Bob Sr. & Donna babysat them through their early years. This formed a special bond that can't be broken, even by the vast distance of heaven .  We wanted to say that we know that time will lessen the loss we all now feel, but it  will never erase the footprint Marissa has left here on earth.  Below is  a poem that Steffen found and felt was appropriate.
